Things to do When you Come to the Adobe.

Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History is located downtown on the corner of Front and Cooper streets, the Museum of Art and History (MAH) offers changing exhibits of western art and traveling shows and a very good permanent exhibit about the humans who have inhabited Santa Cruz County over the years. Art House Theaters. Downtown Santa Cruz has 17 movie screens. Six of these screens show exclusively foreign and independent films. With matinees every day, these art house theaters may be just the ticket for gray or rainy day. Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge. If you plan on being in town for a few days check out Petroglyph, a place where you can decorate ceramic mug, vase, plate or bowl and they will fire it for you. These folks have created a very comfortable atmosphere and they have everything you need. Pacific Edge Climbing Gym is on on the east side of Santa Cruz just off Seabright ave. It is the tallest indoor climbing gym on the west coast. If you are a beginner, they offer training and personal assistance. If you are an expert, you can climb to your heart's content. The old tin building they occupy was once a fish cannery. The cavernous space makes a perfect indoor mountain. After a few hours of climbing, walk across the street to the Seabright Brewery for a pint of locally brewed beer. (831) 454-9254.
